Amber Is Done! UN Removes Her As Human Rights Ambassador

Amber Heard, a former actress and UN human rights ambassador, has been removed from her position due to her lies exposed during the recent trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Heard was lauded as the champion of female rights and the face of women empowerment. She was also honored by the UN as an ambassador for human rights.

However, after her lies were exposed, organizations that awarded her these statuses have retracted their decisions and taken those positions away from her.

Heard had a long history of being falsely hailed as the protector of female rights. In November 2016, she was filmed for a public service announcement on domestic violence and wrote on the subject in both Porter Magazine and the Washington Post. In May 2019, she gave a speech in support of the shield act on Capitol Hill discussing her experience of having her private nude photos hacked and distributed online without her consent during the 2014 celebrity nude photo league.

The United Nations has taken action by tweeting that it appears that the UN has removed the defendant as a human rights ambassador. This is a clear message sent to Amber Heard that they have not believed her lies and that she is not worthy of holding that prestigious position.

During the trial, the chief operating officer of the ACL testified that Hurd had only paid 1.3 million of the 3.5 million she had pledged to donate. Netizens have been enraged that Heard continued to be an ACL ambassador despite the revelations in court. A petition has been created for the former to be terminated from the role of ACL women’s rights ambassador, which has received thousands of signatures.
