Johnny Depp filed a motion in response to Amber Hurt’s claims about juror number 15. He argued that Hurt knew about the wrong age before the trial, as her lawyer stated that it was clearly the wrong age. He also claimed that there is no prejudice because the juror who was seated for the trial was clearly vetted.
Depp has defended Hurt for making unreasonable claims on fake juror 15 claims. The heated defamation trial between the two Hollywood celebrities ended a month ago, but the drama has not slowed down since then. Recently, Hurt’s lawyers attempted to get the verdict thrown out after making claims of an error with juror 15. They questioned the presence of juror 15, who they claim may have compromised Herd’s due process. They asserted that the unnamed juror summoned was born in 1945 but that the person who ultimately served was born in 1970.
Depp’s team argued that Hurt waived her right to challenge the accuracy of the information listed in the jury panel by failing to raise this objection contemporaneously during jury selection or the trial. They also noted that Hurt has shown no evidence of prejudice regarding juror number 15.
Miss Hurt conceded that she had more than enough time before the trial started and during the six-week trial when at least two alternatives were available to investigate and discover the alleged new facts. She chose not to investigate for so long and demanded the extraordinary remedy of a mistrial.
Depp’s fans have expressed their disappointment with Amber’s schemes and the fact that she knew the wrong age from the beginning but was too sure about winning the case.
