Bill Murray Reached $100K Settlement After His S*xual Ab*se On-Set

Veteran actor Bill Murray has paid over $150,000 to settle a sexual assault accuser from the set of the movie Being Mortal, which was produced by Disney’s Searchlight Pictures and Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut. The incident occurred six months after the film was halted due to Murray’s inappropriate behavior. Murray claimed he had a difference of opinion with a woman he was working with and that he had screamed at her on the set of their 1990 crime comedy Quick.

The incident led to the film being halted and people losing their jobs. Murray engaged the woman in a mediation process, which resulted in him paying her $150,000. Both Mary and the woman want to finish the film, but producers at Searchlight, owned by Disney, are wary of controversy. The company may have trouble getting out of its contractual obligations to avoid a legal battle. Murray has dropped out of Wes Anderson’s new film, Asteroid City, and is currently starring opposite Zac Efron and Peter Farrelli in the greatest beer run.
