Amber Heard’s testimony in the trial of Johnny Depp was a topic of controversy and controversy. The jurors, including Amber’s mother, were influenced by her testimony that she gave her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, a large knife as a gift during their early days of their relationship. This statement was controversial as it was quite unbelievable that she would give a weapon as a gift to her allegedly violent husband.
The jury shared the same sentiment, as Amber was grilled by Depp’s lawyer during cross-examination about her allegations of violent abuse. The actor responded that the abuse began early in their relationship in 2011 followed by a break in 2012. She also stated that she didn’t think he would stab her with a knife, which bears the Spanish inscription “Hasa la Muerte until Death.” Some Twitter users believed that Amber had given her abuser something like that in 18 years, and others believed she did it because she intended to kill him.
Other reasons why Amber was discredited included her crocodile tears, which made them uncomfortable while on the stand. One of the five male jury members who spoke anonymously made the claim that Amber crying her facial expressions while on the stand. The juror told her that she would cry after answering one question then turn ice cold two seconds later. Some fans believed this was part of a larger scheme, and some fans believed she had been pursuing Johnny before anything could go wrong.
Aber heard also claimed that she does not consider herself a likable victim but hoped the jury would consider her 2016 text messages to his former agent in which he promised to bring total global humiliation unheard after she filed a restraining order against him and divorced him. However, the juror told her that he believed the couple was abusive to each other but that hurt lacked sufficient evidence to back up her claims of physical abuse.
A lot of Amber’s story didn’t add up, and the majority of the jury felt she was more the aggressor. The juror also thought Hurd’s credibility had been harmed by one major fiasco: the revelation that she had not yet donated all of her 7 million divorce settlement to charity as she had promised. Herd has maintained that she pledged the settlement to charity and used the terms pledged and donated interchangeably. However, the juror cited an interview heard gave on a talk show where she stated that the money was given away, but the truth is that she didn’t give much of it away.
